Figurative Pieces in Canada

In Ottawa’s Museum of Civilization, the figurative display entitled Timeless Treasures: the Story of Dolls in Canada, ran for an unprecedented three years and was annually voted the public’s favourite exhibit, three years in a row. The event showcased THE DOLL from prehistory (Inuit and First Nations pieces) to the better-known porcelain and vinyl dolls of the present and featured the one-of-a-kind figurative art of some of the members of the Canadian Doll Artists Association. Join us as we discuss and demonstrate a short history of dolls in Canada, featuring our award-winning artist dollmakers.
