Kate Atherley: Knitting Teacher, Designer & Editor

Kate Atherley at Creativ FestivalKate Atherley is a well respected knitter that has taken her passion to levels of being a teacher, designer and writer. Did you know her original passion was knitting socks? She enjoys a good challenge such as working with lace and doing cabling.

Kate is the Knitting Editor of A Needle Pulling Thread magazine with additional roles and responsibilities related to knitting. She is a content provider for books and other publications such as Lion Brand and Knitty. She has created patterns for companies such as Estelle Yarns, Southwest Trading Company, Lion Brand and Bijou Basin Ranch. Some of her patterns are available on Patternfish and Ravelry.

On top of her already busy life, she has a blog that she maintains called Wise Hilda Knits. This blog features insider information of everything knitted related. She has tips, lessons and her work showing you an array of fabulous designs. If you are a knitter, you are not going to want to miss visiting her blog.

Kate is coming to Creativ Festival and is hosting a number of free classes about knitting. She can be found at certain times at the A Needle Pulling Thread booth demonstrating and talking to guests of the festival. If you have any questions about knitting, Kate is a great resource on the Creativ Festival Show Floor and/or after her free knitting sessions.
