Learn to choose yarns, size and customize patterns by adding hoods and collars and using multiple colours. Pre-requisite: Comfortable with knitting & decreasing. Bring: 50g of a worsted weight yarn and 4.5mm needles (short circular recommended)

Entrelac is a beautiful and mystifying knitterly art! Learn everything you need to know to create your own one-of-a-kind scarf with some new techniques for increasing, decreasing and picking up stitches. You’ll start with a practice piece worked with scrap yarn, then get started on the scarf itself. Pre-requisite: Proficient with knit & purl. Bring: 4.5mm needles (straight or short circular), scraps of worsted or aran weight yarn. If you’d like to start your scarf in class bring bring 3 balls of yarn  Noro Silk Garden or Kureyon recommended).

Kate tells all to work with multiple colours and confidently handle both Fair Isle and Intarsia techniques. Learn how to tell the two apart and work with both written and chart instructions. Then try 6 to 8 different stitch patterns. Explore Fair Isle using one-hand and two-handed stranded methods and see how (and when) to handle long floats and ensure your gauge is even. Bring: 4.5mm needles & 50g worsted weight yarn in 2 colours.

Designing Your Own Custom Fit Socks (20) All Levels
Liberate yourself from pattern books! Learn how to create a custom fit sock pattern for any yarn and any foot using gauge information and two key measurements. We’ll cover both the top-down or toe-up styles and modify the basic templates for special fit needs like wide or narrow ankles, very pointy or wide toes, knee and over-the-knee lengths, pattern stitches and colourwork. Plus, what to look for in a yarn that’s not specifically designed for socks! Pre-requisite: Worked at least one pair of socks. Bring: Paper, pencil, tape measure & calculator.
