Fashion Sewing Fundamentals (25) Beginner +
Starting to sew with commercial patterns can be intimidating! How do I choose a pattern? What fabrics will I need to buy? What is georgette, broadcloth, gabardine? What kind of interfacing do I need? In this class you’ll create a swatch book of fabric samples, techniques and resources to get you on the way to making well fitting, professional looking garments. Pre-requisite: Machine sewing experience. Minimal Supply List & Kit $20
6 Hour Workshop

 

Perfecting the Shirt & Blouse (25) Intermediate to Advanced
How do you take a commercial blouse or shirt pattern and turn it into a designer original that fits like a glove but costs hundreds less? This class covers everything you need to know. Fitting adjustments and changes in seam allowances for couture techniques like flat felled and French seams. Plus, design ideas that make a designer statement! Draft pattern pieces for cuffs and collars that contour to the body and plackets that fall right into place. Learn about proper button placement, pressing and finishing details. Create pattern samples in the morning, sew them in the afternoon. Minimal Supply List & Kit $15
