Check out what’s in the Cupboard… Quilters Cupboard that is!

Sue Carmichael is owner of Quilters Cupboard, a hustling little quilt shop, located northeast of Toronto, for the past 12 years. Every corner is filled with samples, kits, patterns and ideas that will lead you to your next project. Our staff are all eager to assist you in making your dreams come true, a quilt for someone special or the cottage – it matters not, each should be their own best project! We offer over 50 classes each term, covering all aspects of quilting and piecing. Make sure you invite your friends for a wonderful day trip to visit us in Uxbridge!

About the Owner…

2015 Celebrate You

2015 Celebrate You

Sue Carmichael grew up with crafting and sewing in her bones. As she never took a home ec class, she credits much of whom she is today to the rural 4-H program. Sewing and crafting along with cooking and public speaking were all learned through that program. She learned to quilt in 1988 when the rotary cutter and the faster strip piecing methods were just breaking onto the scene. As it was much easier than garment sewing, Sue became quickly addicted…and has never looked back. She began teaching in 1991 when she moved to Edmonton and continued to teach and quilt, after relocating to New York, then on to Uxbridge, in 2002 where she purchased and opened Quilters Cupboard. What started as a small dream has become a large reality with an active educational element including a full slate of classes and many fun events each month!  Sue believes laughter, friendship and quilting all go together to make the best project! No matter the piecing, colour or corners… it’s all about the heart!
