Fitting: The Holy Grail

Fit is the Holy Grail of sewing and the reason most people make garments for themselves. There are 2 parts to understanding fitting. First is to train the eye to see what the test garment is telling you. Next is knowing what to do with this information. Based on his series of articles in Threads Magazine, New York based couturier and garment construction guru, Kenneth D. King  demonstrates his way of looking at fitting by using a live model to fit a muslin, then transferring the alterations to the paper pattern. In real time with live commentary begin to train your eye and learn the answers to the age-old question – “How did you know what to do?”
