Lennie Honcoop  is a popular quilting teacher and retreat leader. This creative designer is a talented quilter who lives in Elk Grove, California. She decided on the name ‘The Dutch Quilter’ in honour of her heritage coming from the Netherlands. She has been quilting since 1991 and has used her experience in other art media to apply concepts of colour, form and composition in her designs. She pioneered the use of Hot Ribbon to embellish appliqué and is now the international authority. Author of Lettie’s Journey, Floral Favorites, Floral Fantasies and Oregon Coast Lighthouses she also designed Hollyhocks (2010) and Poinsettias (2011) fabric for Exclusively Quilters. www.dutchquilter.com

Create a beautiful 25″ x 29″ wall hanging of autumn leaves with the hot ribbon no-sew appliqué technique. It involves only tracing, cutting and ironing. Use hot ribbon (1/8″ polyester blend with adhesive on one side), finish raw edges and create special effects. And, learn to use Copic® markers to enhance your design. Bring: Appliqué pressing sheet (recommend Bear Thread) & small padded ironing surface. Kit $48
