Margaret Wilson collects vintage handmade quilts and loves to make quilts – by hand or machine, traditional or modern. Her work has appeared in McCall’s Quilting magazine and she won one 1st and two 2nd places at the Markham Fair in 2012.

Hand Quilting (15) Beginner

Come learn how to finish a quilt with decorative hand-quilting using the traditional ‘rocking needle’ method. This class will cover the basic types of hand quilting such as straight-line and echo quilting (more if time permits). Find out about fabric, thread and needle selection, design transfer, layering the fabrics and how to take care of a hand quilted quilt. Pre-requisite: Basic knowledge of quilt construction. Bring: Thimble & small pointed scissors. Hoops on loan in class. Kit $12
