Little Big Words by Kelli Wood, Exhibitor at Creativ Festival
Little Big Words is a nifty little illustration company, created by Kelli Wood.
Founded in October 2012, Kelli, a Toronto based illustrator, teamed up with her imaginary friends from childhood in order to help women everywhere survive the stage in life that she called ‘The B Stage’; the days where we are surrounded by birthdays, brides, babies, besties, boyfriends, break-ups, business administration and giving cards or gifts, just because. Inspired by a secret trick she used for herself, she created ‘The Little Black Box of Cards’ to serve as the little black dress of stationery and matching line of greeting cards; a build-your-own secret stash of cards for every woman’s top drawer, so that they were always ready with the right words to say.
Kelli is a self-taught illustrator, who fell in love with designing imaginative paper products after founding Little Big Words, especially those that inspired people to connect with one another in the moments that matter most. So the quirky little paper company that could, Little Big Words became. Her line has now evolved to include wrapping paper, stickers, gift tags and framed prints. In just one short year, Kelli and her little critters have been selected as a featured artisan for the One of a Kind Show in Toronto for both Spring and Christmas, a designer in the CHA Showcase in Anaheim California, and awarded a sponsorship from Etsy Canada for her unique work.
She spends her days making her products by hand with love in her Toronto studio, with the ultimate goal of helping people connect with one another. Because she believes that life is best, when it’s shared.
